Who are Subulus Salaam?

Initially, we started as a small group of brothers and sisters from East London, mainly from Waltham Forest and Hackney. However, our team has now expanded to various boroughs such as Brent and Newham.

What We Do?

We receive and manage Zakat applications. We organise and prepare the collection of food packages and with the help of our volunteers, we deliver Zakatul Fitr to needy Muslim households across London two days before Eidul Fitr provided that they are registered with us.

The Foundations Of Our Work:

Help one another in righteousness and piety, but do not help one another in sin and transgression. Fear Allah, for Allah is strict in punishment.” (Sūrah al-Mā’idah, Verse 2)
The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise”. (Surah Tawbah verse 71)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who removes from a believer one of his difficulties of this world, Allah will remove one of his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and he who finds relief for a hard-pressed person, Allah will make things easy for him in this life and in the Hereafter; he who covers up (the faults and sins) of a Muslim, Allah will cover up (his faults and sins) in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah supports His slave as long as the slave is supportive of his brother..." (Sahih Muslim)

Narrated Ibn Abbas: When Allah’s messenger (ﷺ) sent Mu’adh Bin Jabal to Yemen, he said to him, "You are going to a nation from the people of the Scripture, so let the first thing to which you will invite them, be the oneness of Allah (Monotheism). If they learn that, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them, five prayers to be offered in one day and one night. And if they pray, tell them that Allah has enjoined on them Zakat of their properties and it is to be taken from the rich among them and given to the poor. And if they agree to that, then take from them Zakat but avoid the best property of the people." (Sahih Al Bukhari)

Finally, our work is inspired by the Qur’an, the Sunnah and the advice of our scholars in regard to our Zakatul Fitr Distribution Project, its vision, its management and its implementation.

“ We are from East London, mainly from Leyton and Hackney. We organise and prepare the collection of food packages and with the help of our volunteers who are based in various boroughs, we deliver zakatul Fitr to needy households throughout London two days before Eidul Fitr provided that they are registered with us.

This work is based on the necessity to return to the Sunnah of Allah’s messenger peace and blessings be upon him in regard to Zakatul Fitr distribution.

This work is also based on the advice and guidance of our scholars.”
